Bryant H. Tabb aka Beridox was born on November 21st, 1973. He grew up in the Church and accepted the Lord Jesus Christ at a very young age. While maturing in life, he was growing up in the era of Hip-Hop in its beginning stages and soon realized that he too had a gift to write and recite rhymes. Unfortunately, in the very beginning of recognizing his gift, he didn't do it for the Lord; he did it for the world. At that time, he admired great emcees of that time like Big Daddy Kane, Rakim, LL Cool J, EST and others and desired to have a similar style to battle other emcees and win, yet with wordplay that amazed the mind. While attending High School in Southwest Philadelphia, he attempted to be the best battle emcee in his school. After graduating from High School, he soon returned back to His first love, God. During that time of his life, he cultivated his relationship with Jesus and walked many years in God's word, studying and finding out more truth from the Holy Scriptures in order to grow spiritually. At that time in his life, he really had no clue that Holy Hip Hop existed until God showed him other local ministries doing it for His glory like Omega-Trig, Cross Movement, and others. Shortly there after, the Lord ushered Beridox back to the pen and pad to write rhymes, but not with a walk or talk that was catered to the flesh, but of the Spirit. God also blessed Beridox with the gift to produce beats for his rhymes and enabled him to start Christ Revolution Music Productions in 2000. Since then, Beridox has released 2 full length CDs. The debut CD was entitled "Manuscripts Of A Servant" that unleashed on the world back on Tuesday, January 24th, 2006. The Sophomore CD "N.O.L." which stands for Newness Of Life, has recently released Tuesday, November 13th, 2007.
The name B.E.R.I.D.O.X. is an acronym that states the true purpose of this Christian minister/artist/producer. Bryant Educates Radically Informing Disciples Of the (X - which means unknown, but interpreted here as the Truth), which is in Jesus Christ. Since Beridox has come into the knowledge of the truth (Jesus Christ), he now attempts to speak with authority the truth of the word of God. The truth is no longer unknown to those that are saved. He attempts to diligently bring across the message of truth to those who are lost and spiritual edification to those who are saved.
Outside of the music ministry, Beridox lives a normal life like most. He has been married to his wonderful wife Kisha for 11 years and has 2 children, Erin & Miles. He serves as an Associate Pastor at Christ Community Church of Philadelphia where he attempts to be an aid in strengthening the Body of Christ at his local fellowship and abroad. As well as work full-time in the Administration Department at his current job.

Beridox???? I guess you all are wondering who could this gentleman be??? Well, he hails from the "City of Brotherly Love" (Philadelphia, PA) with his first full LP titled, "Manuscripts of a Servant." Born Bryant Tabb, this 32 year old brings the heat with some of the most exclusive tracks, with a guarantee to make ya head nod while doing the 2 step. I personally checked out the album before release date and it's so so hot! Beridox takes it to the old school, new school, smooth vibes, street styles, and even orchestra style tracks. I highly endorse this record! If you want to hear yet another great Lyrical Assassin, then you will feel this record on the real...Check out the interview.
Porscha: So your record dropped 1/24/06.... Not only are you an emcee, but also a producer as well. Give us a lil info on "Praimantis Records"? (Pronounced- Pray Mantis)
B: Both I and Todd Thompson (Neo) started this record label together. We both had the same desire but 2 different production companies and once we felt that our visions supported one another, decided to give a joint venture a try. We wanted to have a ministry based record label meaning "we would focus on Gods Timing -vs- Industry Standards, which was the ultimate goal. We choose to release projects when they are absolutely completed -vs- releasing projects under pressure. You definitely have to take your time. (James chapter 1 verses 4 & 5) describes it best, "Live by having patience..."
Porscha: What's up with the name "Beridox"?
B: I had the name back in the secular days but once I came to Christ, God gave me a new acronym.... Bryant Educates Radically Informing Disciples Of the (X - which means unknown, but interpreted here as the Truth) God didn't change my personality, He changed my heart. So with the new life that I now have in Christ, I also have a new purpose, so I kept the name but changed lanes.
Porscha: Did you produce this album alone?
B: I produced the entire album except for one song. That song is called "Set it Off" which is track 19 on the CD. That song was produced by my man Jmerg from Texas. Praimantis actually have in-house producers in Texas (JMerg) and in Cali (B-Ezy). You will hear more music production from them on our future projects from Praimantis Records.
Porscha: Now I'm most def diggin the title. Hot, hot, hot tracks, I must say. You got that Dynamic Twins vibe. What made you choose the title, "Manuscripts of a Servant?"
B: The album title was birthed in 2000 and have been with me ever since. Some of the music production on this project was created back in 2003 and 2004. Some songs were written back in 97 up until now. Some I had when I use to minister back in the day and I just changed the beats and added more flavor to the delivery and of course the Lord did the rest. I chose the title "Manuscripts of a Servant" because of the fact that throughout my years in the music ministry, I began to understand more and more what a "Servant" is, and that helped me to define who I was. "Since I am a servant, I'm going to share with you some of my manuscripts/rhymes that better define my relationship with Christ, with the intention to draw you closer to Him through the music God has given me. "
Porscha: In what way has Christian Rap changed your way of living?
B: It gave me an understanding that just because you're saved, it doesn't mean that you will not have any tight "Christian" music to listen to with the urban style or flavor. A lot of times people are so use to hearing the "traditional gospel sound" that they have come to know, that they don't give room to hear something fresh and new. Sometimes we adopt this same attitude and influence others with the same mentality. We need to continue to be open to God's plans and if He introduces a new genre of music that ministers Christ, we need to support it, even though it might not be preference.
Porscha: Where do you want to be in a year from here?
B: I want to have some of the other artist/ministries off of Praimantis Records drop their projects and for me to be working on my sophomore project. We are staying open to God's leading and will follow His plan on this one.
Porscha: What encouraging words would you like to leave us with?
B: One of the most important passages to me in the bible that I love to read is (Phil chap 2 verses 1-11). Through study of this passage, I now understand the role of Christ and how He Himself became a "servant" and the result or should I say reward of his faithfulness to God is amazing. Millions of people now have the opportunity to become saved and to be in a right relationship with God our Creator. Jesus definitely is the ultimate example of a servant to me. I pray that every reader of this interview will make that same sacrifice and obey God even unto death so that others will enter into the faith.
For some time now, Philadelphia has been considered to be the spot for holy hip-hop artists. When you have names like Cross Movement, Japhia Life, Timothy Brindle, and a number of other emcees, you can't help but to realize that some good evangelistic hip-hop is coming from the city of brotherly love. Well, another emcee that has come onto the scene from Philly is a guy by the name of B.E.R.I.D.O.X., which stands for Bryant Educates Radically Informing Disciples Of the (X - which means unknown, but interpreted here as the Truth). Here is the review for his debut album Manuscripts of a Servant released via Christ Revolution Music Ministries and Praimantis Records.
From the jump, Beridox lets you know that he's going to be coming at you with in your face rhymes that preach Christ with the song "Live & Direct." And from there, Beridox "Bring[s] the Heat" with Biblically inspired tracks such as "Holy Manuscripts," "Christ Is My Life," and "Awesome God." "Holy Manuscripts" is a track that encourages believers to stand up for Christ and begin to walk by the commandments that have been outlined in the Holy Scriptures. This is a cry for living right in the sight of the King, as well as getting people to get into their Word and find out what it has to say. "Christ Is My Life" is a song that tells us just that; here, Beridox lets the world know that everything he is about is Jesus Christ and that when he grabs the mic he's going to preach Christ. "Awesome God" is a fairly laid back track that does none other than give the Lord some praise for being such an awesome God.
It doesn't stop there either because you have tracks like "Master Plan" where Beridox, along with Neo & RiL, discusses how God orchestrated the master plan of sending Jesus Christ down to earth to pay the penalty of our sins. You even get to hear Beridox's testimony with the song "A True Story," where he eloquently lets you know how he eventually came to know the Lord for himself and be the man of God that he is today. After giving a call for being real in this walk and becoming servants with the tracks "No Toy Soldiers" and "Servanthood," Beridox then asks the all important question of "Are You Ready?" Are you ready to lift your hands and serve the Lord?
I have to say that Beridox did his thing on this project. He brought the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ on every track. His rhymes were on point and he was able to spit over some solid east coast beats. If you're looking for more emcees coming out of the city of brotherly love, then Beridox is one of those emcees that you'll want to check out. Philly has holy hip-hop on lock!
Manuscripts of a Servant brings lyrics that are raw and uncut over smooth east coast beats. Hailing from Philly, a current Holy Hip Hop hub, artist B.E.R.I.D.O.X (Bryant Educates Radically Informing Disciples Of the X) lets his listeners know from the outset just what the purpose of his album is.
From tracks like Live & Direct to Awesome God, you know B.E.R.I.D.O.X only brings non-stop Holy Hip Hop for your speaker box! His rhymes are on point, spreading that untainted gospel via the microphone. The heart of the messages reach to both Christians and non-Christians alike, and B.E.R.I.D.O.X has a lot of versatility, ranging from slow moving, chilling music to straight head bangers.
From start to finish Manuscripts is Word-orientated music, as B.E.R.I.D.O.X said, the purpose of this LP was not to entertain but minister. It would have been nice if the production were slightly more focused, as although he might have a great many truths to convey, not many non-believers will listen to B.E.R.I.D.O.X if the production is not on par with secular Hip Hop. In light of this, I know for certain that his heart is in the right place and, as God is doing across the whole spectrum of Holy Hip Hop, I know that B.E.R.I.D.O.Xs production can only move forward from here.
Much love,
One - etc.
