“I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee”

One thing we can be assured of as believers is that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever. What God has promised to do He will do. He is not a respector of persons and loves everyone the same, both the saint and the sinner. Yet, He hates the sin one commits and desires that all come unto repentance and accepts Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

As you see by the scriptures above, God informed Joshua of some things that he should be aware of. God wanted him to know that He (God Almighty) was on his side. That he doesn’t have to fear or worry about the circumstances or situations that comes his way, because the Almighty God is on his side. God promised to never leave him nor forsake him. God said just like I was with Moses I am going to be with you. Well, we all saw how God was with Moses. Think back about the 10 Commandments (the movie). God spent time with Moses, teaching him the word and also showing him how to act in accordance to the word of God. God molded Moses to be what He wanted him to be. When Moses encountered problems he immediately turned to God. Like the Red Sea incident, Moses said what now Lord and God gave him some Devine instructions to stretch forth the staff so that the power of God could split the sea open so that they can pass through and escape the enemy. God was truly with him, and as He was with Moses He said that He will be with Joshua. Well let’s bring that statement up to date. As God was with Moses and Joshua, so will He be with us. Remember you have accepted the Lord Jesus Christ into your life. God is now your Father. What Father would leave His child and not help him out. If He said He is no respector of persons and loves everyone the same, then the same thing He did for Moses and Joshua He will do for us.

Now we need to take God at His word. If He said He was going to always be with us and never leave us, then He is going to do exactly what He said He is going to do. That’s why He said we can be strong and of a good courage. We do not have to fear anything or anybody except the Lord our God (give Him reverence). God wants us to follow His leading. Remember He is still in control of every situation that we face. When bad things happen to us always stick to the word of God. It says the devil comes to kill, steal and destroy; Jesus said I have come that you might have life and that more abundantly (John 10:10). God’s desire is for us to be blessed in this life and for us to be a blessing to others. We don't need to be lone ranger Christians when He is on our side. God has the power and might to deliver us from every fiery trial that we encounter. He will help us. He will protect us. He will take care of us. We must trust Him, believe Him and take Him at His word.

We need to revive ourselves daily that God is ever present in our lives. We need NOT face every situation, problem or circumstance on our own. Yeah, it’s sometimes good to call on reinforcements (other Christians) but don’t call on those other reinforcements when you haven’t went to the #1 “topnotch” reinforcement of them all [GOD]. He is definitely able to handle whatever you are facing today. He is definitely able to make a way of escape for you. Put your trust in Him, give Him your problems, your concerns, your worries, etc., and let Him work it out. I guarantee you that if you turn it over to Jesus, He can work them out. You are not alone, God is truly with you even unto the end of the age.
